This is Mr. Speranza’s second interview with the West Point Center for Oral History. Mr. Speranza returned to provide more details of his time as a paratrooper during World War II. He discusses airborne training, the opening phase of the 101st's stand at Bastogne, and his homecoming. Pay attention to the story of how the last words from his father before Speranza left for basic training sustained him through German artillery barrages.
