Not Through Invention, But Through Innovation

Thomas A. Pugh

Description

BG Thomas Pugh is currently the Commandant of the U.S. Army Signal School at Fort Gordon, Georgia. He grew up in the mountains of east Tennessee around Chattanooga, and military service was a natural outgrowth of his upbringing. After majoring in electrical engineering, the Signal Corps proved to be a perfect fit, even though it was not his top choice for branch. During his career, BG Pugh has deployed to Somalia, Haiti, Iraq, and Qatar. In this interview, he discusses the changes in the Signal Branch over the years, to include Signal Corps Officers helping to pioneer the use of military aviation. He also talks about current concerns, such as interoperability issues with multinational partners and sister services. Finally, he talks about timeless leadership lessons that apply across all branches.
