At Home In A Sea Of Gray: A Midshipman On Exchange

Midshipman Scott Mayer spent the first semester of 2016 as an exchange Cadet at West Point. He grew up in a Navy family, and as a young man in high school, his concept of citizenship led him to pursue a future in the military. He was accepted at Annapolis and joined the Class of 2018. He chose to double major in computer science and information technology and hopes to serve as a Cyber and Signals Intelligence Officer. In this interview, Scott discusses his childhood as a Navy Brat, his decision to attend the Naval Academy, and his goals for the future. He describes his experience as an exchange Cadet at West Point and identifies his favorite attributes of each academy. Finally, he examines what he hopes to bring back to the Naval Academy from his experience at West Point.
