LTC(R) Melonie Quander tells her story of an Army Nurse and mother dealing with deployments, casualty care, and balancing service, family, and multiple deployments for her and her spouse. She provides a brief glimpse into the ordered chaos of a forward deployed emergency room and how training forms the solid bedrock that allows Soldiers to function when casualties include close friends.
