“A Soccer Star’s Three Tours in Iraq”: A West Point Family’s Legacy

Lauren (Rowe) Glaze is the second of the four Rowe children to graduate from West Point. She was inducted into the Army Sports Hall of Fame in 2011 for soccer and track & field. In this interview, Lauren (Rowe) Glaze talks about following in the footsteps of her father and sister in attending West Point, her athletic exploits as a cadet, and her three trips to Iraq as a military police lieutenant and captain with the 3rd Infantry Division. She reflects on the responsibilities and challenges she faced at different points along the way, such as meeting her first platoon several months into their deployment in Sadr City, Baghdad. She ends the interview with some thoughts about her induction into the Army Sports Hall of Fame.
