A Leader for the World's Future: A Rhodes Scholar Reflects on his West Point Experience

Christian Nattiel

Description

Christian Nattiel grew up in Georgia and Florida, with hopes of attending the Air Force Academy to become a fighter pilot. When he learned that he had grown too tall to realize that dream, he considered alternative routes to serve his country, which brought him to West Point. In this interview, conducted less than three days prior to his graduation, Nattiel talks about his highly successful cadet career, which he capped by winning a Rhodes Scholarship. Christian took on a number of leadership roles throughout his four years, and excelled across all the pillars of the West Point experience. As a Rhodes winner, he will study at Oxford for two years. Upon his return to the states, Christian will train as an Infantryman, and begin his career as an officer in the U.S. Army.
