Camily Widger was born in 2003 and moved to Florida when she was two. She grew up with her mother, stepfather, two sisters and a brother. As an eight-year-old, she remembers when her mom earned her American citizenship. From a young age, she wanted to join the military, and when she visited a recruiter at 15, he suggested she consider ROTC or the academies. In high school she was involved in track, cross country, lacrosse, and a worship team at church. She also became involved with a charity and returned to her grandparents’ town in Ecuador each year to teach English to children. At West Point, she enjoyed Beast Barracks, but not land navigation. She chose to major in the Social Sciences. She served as a 1st Detail Beast Platoon Sergeant and developed close bonds with the members of her platoon. Having had experience riding horses in her youth, she tried out for the Mule Riders, but was pulled onto the Equestrian Team instead. Currently, she serves as the Brigade ACT Sergeant Major, noting that ACT provides resources for Cadet holistic health. She is also on the OCF (Officer Christian Fellowship) Worship Team. For young people considering attending the Military Academy, she recommends knowing yourself to determine if this is the right place for you, noting that West Point refines qualities you already possess. She hopes to commission as a Medical Service Corps Officer, Logistician, or an MP. She states that West Point offers many opportunities, and it is what you make of it.
