A Pioneering Cyber Master Sergeant Earns a PhD and becomes a West Point Professor

After enlisting in the US Army in 1984 as a Field Artillery surveyor, Master Sergeant (Promotable) Jeffrey Morris found his way to the Cyber Branch via the Air Force Institute of Technology in Ohio, earning a PhD in Systems Engineering and a follow-on assignment as the Sergeant Major of the Army Cyber Institute at West Point. MSG(P) Morris discusses his pioneering path toward a doctoral degree from the enlisted ranks, and shares his experiences on teaching Cadets in a professorial capacity as a non-commissioned officer.
